Say hello to Maya! She is a 1 1/2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She weighs around 60 pounds and is knee high. Her pictures do not do her justice. She is very pretty and unique looking. She has brindle markings on her eyebrows, chin, legs and chest. The rest of her coat is black...which is why we believe she is mixed with Rottie or Doberman. She lives with two children ages 12 and 5. Her playmates are 2 male dogs. She would do great in a home with another playful dog because that is one of her favorite things to do. She plays gentler with her foster family's pug and rougher with their lab because he is closer to her size. They also have an older cat. Maya gives her a playful chase from time to time but she just hisses at her and Maya lets her be. Maya is completely crate trained. She does get nervous when unfamiliar people get close to her while she's in her crate. She will bark to warn them she is scared and feels intimidated. This is her "safe" place which is not uncommon for dogs. Also, when her foster family has big gatherings inside the home she gets nervous. To keep her calm, her foster mom just moves her crate to a quiet room not being used. She is housebroken. She loves playing fetch, play time with friendly dogs, her chew toys and bones, being shown love and affection and belly rubs. She is truly a very loving pet with personality!
